The Weather Gods Totally Read My Blog.
You may or may not remember but just a few days ago on this here blog, I wrote a quick post complaining about how the ever-changing weather forecast was letting me down. Turns out I spoke too soon! I was awoken this morning by a text message from Alix - and not two seconds later, Jason’s phone beeped with a message from one of his friends: ‘Get up, look outside, it’s snowing!’
That was all it took for me to be up like a flash, peering out the window. It really was snowing! The boy got up, admired the view, then promptly went back to bed. Me? I grabbed my parka, beanie and camera, and went to play on the balcony.

Snow! It was really huge chunks of it falling too, and fell like this for a few hours.

I almost felt like I should’ve started belting out Christmas carols at the top of my lungs.

Is it not the prettiest thing you’ve ever seen? Look at the snow-covered bushes!
As you can tell, I was mighty chuffed. Yesterday I was wearing short sleeved t-shirts, and today it was 0 degrees celcius and actually SNOWING!
In case you were wondering, yes, I have seen snow before whilst holidaying in Switzerland and Scotland a few years ago, but that was in the middle of winter on the top of big snowy mountains. I’ve never actually had snow fall on my head while standing on my very own balcony before! And in Spring? Weird.
(Actually, I’ve never had my own balcony before, but that’s beside the point.)

Seriously though, please focus on the snow and not my blotchiness. I just woke up!

Apparently it snowed here as well this morning! But I guess it was quite early, and not that much anyway. But we had hail and sun at the same time this afternoon.
It’s bloody spring!!! What the hell is going on?!?

I am SO PISSED about this. It’s snowing in Germany and London right now, and those are the two places we are going next week. To enjoy a European SPRING! Blah.

The only thing better than unexpected snow is to have enough snow fall to shut down the city and give you a snow day. (snow day = free day off work or school resulting in unexpected free time to do anything or nothing at all)

I am thinking that some of your fellow Londoners might not be so happy about April snow, Aly! Well, at least you’re enjoying it!!
April 7th, 2008 at 6:22 pm
I love the snow, and your pictures are beautiful!
April 7th, 2008 at 7:34 pm
I like the snow and all, but it’s coming on to Spring. So I feel your pain.
I really thought the title was funny, for some reason.
Got to you via a comment you left at KJ’s site. Nice meeting you.

When I was in Vail (a Colorado ski town) last week, it snowed 2 feet one day. It was nuts — even to a Colorado native! And it was absolutely gorgeous. Glad you got to play in the snow!
